An effective Physical Protection System (PPS) must address several areas. The system must provide adequate defence to:

Deter: The PPS must act as both a physiological and physical barrier to motivate would-be intruders to pass on the property and move on to easier targets. As the vast majority of security events in Ottawa are “crimes of opportunity”, that is where the intruder takes advantage of a lapse in security, the PPS must be designed to both reduce these lapses as well as represent a well-protected entity o further de-motivate these potential intruders.

Detect: The PPS must contain the ability to detect any unauthorized incursions to sensitive areas. The system must contain both the ability to detect said incursion as well as notify the property parties in timely enough period to allow from adequate and proper response.

Delay: In partnership with the above referenced point, the PPS must contain adequate sophistication to delay the intruder to allow for the appropriate response. As most business entities will not have the resource of in-house security, (or it is conceivable that the in-house security is not equipped to manage the threat) the PPS must delay the intruder to a sufficient amount of time.

Combining expertise and experience from 3 different fields (Building Management, Physical Security and Project Management), this package ensures that the facility is properly positioned to best protect the facility, residents and assets that it contains. In addition to identifying the risk and vulnerabilities within the facility, the gold package sets the facility on the correct path by assisting in the design phase of implementing the most important security solutions.

*The Gold Security Package is best used for facilities that are looking to evaluate security risk and to implement solutions within 1-2 years of the date of the report (and who have security providers they wish to utilize) .

Platinum Security Package

The Platinum Security Package is the ultimate standard in Condominium and Facility Security. It combines three different expert designations to best ensure that your investment is protected to the highest standard. The package starts with a Security Audit / Assessment of the property to identify both risks and threats to the property. This is completed using the security standards as set out by ASIS in the realm of Physical Security, and incorporates the knowledge and experience from the PSP (Physical Security Professional) designation. Once the report has been presented to the facility, 3D Security Services will assist in the implementation, prioritization, and budgeting of the approved upgrades. This is completed using the RCM (Registered Condominium Manager) designation from ACMO as we will help differentiate between Reserve Fund and Operating Expenses. These expenses, where appropriate, will be incorporated into the Condominium Funding Schedule (RFS). Once the funding and expenses have been approved, 3D security Services will use their project management expertise, as certified with the Security Industry Association as a CSPM (Certified Security Project Manager) to prepare the equipment specifications. In addition to tender specification, our security experts will also oversee the bidding process and the installation stages.

Recognizing that Video Surveillance Security (VSS) is one of the most commonly utilized security measure within the corporation, 3D Security Services offers a program to determine how efficient your faculty`s VSS compares to Security Industry best practices. This program will be conducted at different periods of the day and will further test your VSS integration into other security measures.

Access Control Evaluation

In addition to the VSS, one of the most important security features within a facility is Access Control. Most of the condominiums have moved from a keyed system to one that utilizes fobs to grant access.
