3D Security and Response Services has a proven track record of providing the best event security services in Ottawa. As a result of our dedication to education and the training of our valuable team members, we possess the skills and team to make sure that your event proceeds as smoothly and professionally as possible.

When it comes to security, one size does not fit all. 3D Security and Response Services is an established expert in providing excellent security protection for events of all sizes and natures. From weddings to concerts to formal events, we are your security event expert.

Pre-event Planning: One of the major 3D differences when it comes to security is pre-event planning. Too often, event security fails because security planning takes place frantically during the event. We have all seen supervisors running around during an event, desperately trying to plug holes. At 3D Security, we firmly believe in the 7 P’s: Proper Prior Planning Prevents Pretty Poor Performance. Knowing the venue, the attendees, the stakeholders, and the organizers is all critical pre-event information which is incorporated into your custom designed security plan.

Custom Security Plan: As the next step, 3D Security and Response Services analyzes the security and emergency requirements from the ground up. During the planning stage, we develop the process and controls that will mitigate risks / liability and protect people and the facility during the event. By taking care of these details in advance of the event, it frees up the organizers and facility staff to concentrate on making the event as successful as possible, as security is no longer a concern.

Training: Another 3D difference is that we recognize the fact that the security solutions cannot be overbearing or intrusive to the attendees. The success of the event, in part, revolves around the attendee’s enjoyment of the event. No one wants to deal with a “Robocop”: a security guard focused solely on enforcing arbitrary rules and enjoying power. To qualify for the 3D Security and Response event team, our staff must successfully complete in-house training. This ensures that they not only properly represent 3D Security and Response Services, but that they are also a professional reflection on the event and organizers.

In order to be qualified for the event security team, 3D team members must successfully completed different training, including:

  • Tactical Communication and De-Escalation: Certified as Instructors with the Verbal Judo Institute, this in-house training teaches the 5 Universal truths about dealing with difficult people. One of these truths is that everyone wants to be treated with dignity and respect. Another is that people like to be given options, rather than ultimates. Through role-playing and re-enforcement training, our team members train to deal with difficult situations professionally.
  • Use of Force: In order to professionally protect people and property, our guards must be confident in their abilities and authority. Having Use of Force Instructors in-house allows 3D Security and Response to continually train and reinforce these techniques to build confidence. Many times, situations where excessive use of force is used is a result of untrained guards who were not confident about their responsibilities. Many guards only practice their use of force curriculum annually. At 3D Security and Response Services, we hold these courses every 2 months, and guards who already have the training will often take the opportunity to attend and sharpen their skills. Another critical part of this training is understanding the Canadian Criminal Code, as well as the Trespass to Property Act. By understanding these 2 documents, the guard will always act within the boundaries of the law.
  • First Aid / CPR: Under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, security guards are required to obtain an Emergency Level certification of first aid. To qualify for the event security team, our team members must successfully obtain the next higher level of training in First Aid, which is the Standard Level. Additionally, our supervisors at events are required to have the Medical First Responder (MFR) certification, which is obtained by attending and passing a 100-hour first aid course dealing with different types of first aid scenarios.
  • Emergency Response: Having in-house experts in Emergency Management concepts allows for event security planning to be properly coordinated and the team members briefed before the event. No 3D security team will work an event without taking part in the pre-event briefing, which includes emergency (medical, fire, evacuation, amber alert, etc.) procedures, rendezvous and staging locations, communication review, location of safety and security equipment, and many other topics. By reviewing this information in advance of the event, the staff is much better prepared to protect and assist the attendees in the event of an unforeseen emergency.

3D Security and Response Services stakes its reputation on providing qualified, professional security guards who have been properly trained. In addition, these guards are motivated to professionally reflect well on 3D and the organizers of the event and are committed to doing the job properly. Event organizers will never catch a 3D guard playing on their phone while at work – they are trained to handle all types of events, both small and large.

For your next event, reduce your stress by letting 3D Security and Response Services manage your security and emergency requirements. Due to our training being based in-house, and we carefully vet our guards before allowing them onto the Event Security team, we can offer enhanced services at competitive market prices that will not blow your entire budget.
